There’s nothing that helps get you up in the morning like a big, bitter, beautiful cup of coffee. Sometimes, it’s the difference between feeling awake and alert, and being lethargic and down for the first part of your day.
While grinding coffee beans can be relaxing for some, it’s more trouble than it’s worth for many more.
That’s why we’re looking at the best available coffee makers, with internal grinders, for the best prices.
For the love of God spoil yourself. Busy schedules and full workdays mean that you might not have time to do more than grab a cup of coffee on your way out the door.
We found some coffee makers that can have your coffee ready for you exactly when you need it, and more.
Why Buy the Coffee Maker with Grinder?
Yes, you who are reading this with an inquisitive look on your face, a coffee maker. With a grinder. But, there are some advantages to inbuilt-grinder coffee makers that other machines and methods just can’t offer.
First, though manual coffee makes some of the best coffee according to most, an automated coffee maker will save you lots of time, and most likely, money.
With the newer machines, it’s possible to set the time that you want the coffee to be ready for you. You can wake up, shower, get dressed, and have a cup of coffee in your hand in what will surely be record time.
“But,” you might ask, “why do I need to get a coffee maker with a grinder? Why not just a machine that I can throw my pre-ground grounds into?”
Maybe you already know the answer but the reason is that sitting coffee grounds lose their potency, the more time they sit out.
A lot of the flavor and aroma are just, well, lost. Sure, you can get a manual burr grinder, too, but why not knock out two birds with one beautifully designed stone?
Finally, coffee makers with grinders have a whole host of customizable features that let you choose exactly how you want to use them.
Brew time, brew amount, and espresso/cappuccino settings are just some of the options that make these machines so flexible.
They’re versatile enough for any situation. The amount of design that goes into these machines is unbelievable.
Best 5 Recommendations for a Coffee Maker with Grinder
There are some things you should definitely keep in mind as you go through this list:
- What’s my budget?
- How flexible do I want my coffee maker to be?
- What features do I need my coffee maker to have?
1. The Breville BDC650B SS Grind Control
The Breville Grind Control is one of the good coffee makers with grinder on the market today. It has so many features, it actually difficult to concisely list them here.
First, the design is entirely stainless steel, as is its carafe – a union of style and function that can keep you coffee hot for up to 3 hours.
But we’re just getting started. One of the many customizable features that we loved was the ability to set your brew based not only burr grind settings but also on the strength you want the coffee to have.
Using a “steep and release” system, the coffee maker can allow the hot water to absorb more or less bean flavor before dripping into the carafe.
Though we were already blown away at this point, there’s one more setting that really puts the Breville into that top spot.
With the inbuilt LCD screen, you can program the machine to auto-start with the brew time and strength you want.
You’ll be able to get up and have a coffee in your hand straight away a feature that is just so convenient.
Unfortunately, one reported problem is with the feed system of the bean hopper, which can be slightly inconsistent at times.
Exceptional
- Programmable
- 8 Strength Settings
- LCD Screen with real-time feedback
- Stylish
Compromise
- Inconsistent bean feeding system
2. The Cuisinart DGB-550BK Grind & Brew
The Cuisinart Grind & Brew is another first-class coffee maker with grinder that can absolutely do it all.
The amount of design that went into it makes it look more like a smartphone than a coffee machine. The customizability is definitely its greatest draw, though that’s certainly not the end of it.
Like the Breville above, it’s made of stainless steel, including the carafe, which ensures that your coffee stays hot for hours on end.
The charcoal water filter, permanent by the way, removes impurities of all kinds, even those in drinking water.
The body is made with double wall insulation and a 12 cup storage capacity! To top it off, the Cuisinart features a whisper quiet burr grinder.
The Cuisinart can also be programmed to have that cup of coffee ready for you in the morning, complete with an auto-shutoff function to keep it safe.
If you want 24 cups of coffee over 24 hours, no problem the Cuisinart can handle it! And somehow last and least, the coffee maker features a strength selector, too, to make your beverage exactly the way you like it.
However, one drawback to the machine is that it needs to be cleaned fairly regularly preferably after each use. Wiping the machine down at the end of the day should be routine.
Exceptional
- Programmable
- 12-Cup Carafe
- Permanent Charcoal Filter
Compromise
- Need for constant cleaning
3. Cuisinart-DGB-900BC
Another coffee maker with grinder that we really liked is the Cuisinart DGB-900BC, which melds a classic coffee maker with lots of great new features.
It’s got so many high quality materials that it will definitely spoil you.
The charcoal water filter, in addition to a gold tone filter, means that your coffee will be free of impurities in household water, while keeping your coffee bitter and refreshing.
Though it almost seems like we wouldn’t even have to mention it at this point, the Cuisinart is another coffee maker with 24 hour programmability.
To keep your coffee warm and to guarantee your safety, the DGB-900BC also comes with an auto-shutoff function.
If you are a deep sleeper and wants to wake up on time. One piece of good news for you is that this grinder is extremely loud.
Combined with the programmability function, you can, for sure, wake up when you wish (or don’t wish) to.
Though the DGB-900BC comes with a 12-cup carafe, it’s also versatile enough to let you boil one cup of coffee at a time, if you choose.
Additionally, we love the Brew Pause feature, which lets you stop halfway through making your coffee and take a break, if you want.
One negative that has been noted about this machine is its durability in order to keep this machine around for a little while, you need to make sure that you clean and maintain it regularly it’s a must. But despite that, the Cuisinart DGB-900BC is one of our favorite machines.
Exceptional
- 24 hours Programmability
- Auto shutoff
- Charcoal/Gold Filter
Compromise
- Durability
- Loud grinder (Boon or Bane)
4. Capresso CoffeeTeam
The Capresso is a great machine for making consistent cups of coffee.
Though from the rest of our list, you might’ve expected another completely stainless steel coffee maker, we feel that the Capresso 465 doesn’t lose any style despite that.
Though it might not have as many of the fancy options that set the above machines apart from the pack, it does have quite a few things going for it.
First, the Capresso 465 has a conical burr, which may not sound particular in and of itself, but it actually incorporates the same quality burr that’s found in commercial coffee makers.
This reduces friction between the beans and blades drawing the flavor out of the beans consistently and aromatically.
The carafe is a 10-cup, and you can choose to fill it up one cup or the full ten. You can adjust the grind settings and the strength settings, too!
The last attention-grabber for this machine is the pre-ground coffee slot. Though at this point, it’d surprise us if you weren’t using your own beans, seeing as how you’re looking for a coffee machine with a grinder, this coffee maker does give you the flexibility to use pre-ground coffee.
This would be especially useful if you want a cup of decaf, but don’t have the decaf beans on hand. The Capresso 465 can also take the pre-ground decaf and make you the coffee you need.
One weakness that the Capresso has is its loudness it does tend to make a little more noise than the other coffee makers on this list.
Exceptional
- Commercial quality burr grinder
- Adjustable grind and strength settings
- Pre-ground coffee slot
Compromise
5. Black & Decker CM055B
Maybe you’ve been looking through this list and thinking to yourself jeez, I just wanted a cup of coffee consider yourself perfect for this next coffee maker.
The Black and Decker CM055B is a no-frills, simple coffee maker that gets the job done reliably and proficiently.
The CM055B makes high quality coffee without most of the doodads on the other machines. There’s no timer, no programmability, and no bells and whistles.
The brew speed is excellent, and the 5-cup carafe and more diminutive size of this machine means that you can put it pretty much wherever you want in your kitchen. It’s ideal for dorm rooms, studio apartments, or anyone with limited space, really.
It also has great durability, in addition to a dishwasher-safe filter basket, and a heated carafe plate to keep your Joe nice and warm for an hour after brewing.
It has a simple, lighted, on/off switch. We find the CM055B to be the easiest-to-use coffee maker on this list.
The only negative may be the quirky on/off switch, which has been known to break after repeated use. Nonetheless, we really love this coffee maker.
Exceptional
- Simple, no frills
- Excellent Brew
- Very Durable
Compromise
- Some might face problems with on/off switch
Conclusion
After writing on these coffee makers with grinders for hours and hours, we finally decided that the Delonghi Magnifica is the top coffee maker with grinder even despite the fact that it isn’t programmable.
The features and customizability, along with the lack of any true flaws and its ability to make espressos, lattes, and Americanos all in a handful of minutes leaves it without a competitor in our eyes. Not only that – it also has legendary durability and is incredibly easy to clean.
Though it may not be your first choice if you’re the kind of person who cannons out the door every morning (maybe consider a programmable coffee maker), as long as you have a handful of minutes in the morning, the DeLonghi will reward you with excellent coffee.
If you’re looking, too, more a more hands off option, take a look at the Cuisinart DGB-550BK Grind & Brew, which is a little bit more low maintenance and also offer programmability.
Nonetheless, the DeLonghi ESAM 3300 is our top pick for coffee makers with a grinder.
